Over the past 20 years
Most artists work hard at finding their unique “voice “or style and when they find it they stick with it for the rest of their career. Gallery owners say “for me to sell your work and get collectors coming back your art has got to be consistent”. I have a friend who's been painting portraits for over 60 years, another working exclusively in abstract, both excellent artists. But I'm a curious guy and have to follow that that curiosity wherever itleads me. Imaginary representational landscapes, close up photos of cracking ice, highly abstract colorful compositions, it’s all part of the mix.
So when I create an image that doesn't seem to fit in any other category I plunk it down safely in EVERYTHING ELSE.
